Temporary Insanity - Breaking News

We have just had news of a late change in the DJ line-up for the Temporary Insanity organised party tomorrow night, and in truth it’s one hell of a change… for the good! We have just been told that Rob Marmot has just hit the island and will be playing the party! So for the list looks as follows:

Paul (UFO Crew)
Ed Kurno (Reel House Records)
Rob Marmot (Pacha, Ibiza)
Clive Henry-DC10 (Peace Division)
Brandon Block
Mr A

I don’t think there has ever been such an impressive list of talent present at a party on Koh Phangan EVER! If you are on the island then you have to be there, if you are not on the island then this website will be streaming the party live across the internet. Pop back tomorrow to get the links for the audio feed.

Just a reminder that we will be streaming the Temporary Insanity organised party live form Koh Phangan on the 21st of January!

Temporary Insanity will be presenting Brandon Block and Ed Kurno at their Ibiza style party garden from early evening until early morning. Rumours abound of an after party in a nearby club that will see the whole event run through 24 hours of non stop music and dance!

We suggest you get to the party early, entry before 10pm is only 400Baht, with promotions from both Singha and Chaing on the same beach it should be quite cheap to buy your drinks!

Check back tomorrow for live lings to our streaming server so that you may listen in even if you are not on the island, never before has an event been streamed live from this remote location!

The End of Parties on Koh Phangan?

I read an articles today on the Bangkok post that said some pretty negative things about Koh Phangan and the party scene here. You can read the entire articles here . They seem to see Koh Phangan as a hot spot of drug abuse and drug related crime. I’m sorry but having lived here for 18 months I have to say I see less evidence of drug use than I ever did in my hometown back in the UK. To quote the article:

Shivamoon , Halfmoon, Blackmoon and Jungle Party are also big events on the island, attracting large crowds abusing excessively all kinds of narcotics and illegal substances. These parties run from 9 p.m. until noon the next day, hammering their terrible noise into the open air, leaving many villagers sleepless all night.
Imagine these night-long, noise polluting, most disturbing events happening in your area, or seeing these drugged individuals walking in your street.
No need to mention fatalities and injuries, the rising amount of drug-related accidents, robberies, and house break-ins.
In other major tourist areas in Bangkok, Phuket or Koh Samui, entertainment venues have to close at 2 a.m. Enforcing that measure on the above-mentioned places would reduce the problems. Better, of course, would be a total and unnegotiable ban, especially in and near residential areas, to bring back peace and a good night’s sleep.

We have heard this kind of thing before, the only difference this time is the fact that some of this came directly from the mouth of Pol Lt-Gen Wuthi Liptapallop, who is determined it would seem, to fight the drug problem in Thailand.

Time will tell if Koh Phangan will survive this onslaught and remain as it is now, I guess invetiable, things will change, it’s just a matter of time.

All Koh Phangan Parties Cancelled!

Due to the death of HRH Princess Galyani, the Thai government has ordered that all parties upon Koh Phangan be cancelled for the next two weeks. Rumour is that the police walked into the Ban Sabai Party a few days ago and closed it down.

We will try and find out the new dates for the rescheduled parties and post them here for your information in a couple of days. A real downer for anyone who has just arrived on the island looking to party!
