Shiva Moon Party - 11th July 2007
What the Shiva Moon Party lacks in numbers it certainly makes up for with quality. Everything about this event upon Koh Phangan is smooth. From the sounds to the toilets you won’t find another party here as polished.
Traditionally the Shiva Moon Party is a trance affair and once again they did not disappoint. In a world flooded with trance DJ’s I find it incredible that they guys at the SMP manage to make every set sound fresh.
Not only are the sounds spot on but the site itself is decorated with great care, this is not a thumping bass and nothing else kind of party, it ’s an audio/visual extravaganza, some of the other parties on the island *cough* Full Moon Party *cough* should take note……
Our only real complaint currently with the SMP is the access. The road into the jungle is getting very very bad, the heavy rains of late have left huge channels several inches deep gouged out for most of it’s length. If you are driving your scooter to this party then take care, take one hell of a lot more care when leaving after a couple of buckets!
We did manage to record some audio tonight, a download will be available tomorrow once we have tidied it up a little and removed some of the background noise.
