Koh Phangan Parties was established in the summer of 2007, at the time I moved to the island to live. It was intended that the site would concentrate solely upon the party scene on the island, with the infamous Full Moon Party happening every month, along with several other world renowned events; it seemed like a good idea.
Since then the site has changed a little, and now carries a lot more general Koh Phangan related content.
Koh Phangan is a stunning place, with some of the most unspoiled beaches to be found in Thailand. Along with the lazy bungalows resorts, mostly reasonably priced, it is a fantastic location to spend some time and unwind.
For those who like a little action, the party scene here is renowned around the globe as being some of the best organised beach party events to be found anywhere. From the huge Full Moon Party, to the smaller parties such as the Moon Set Party, you are bound to find something that gets you pumping.
Water sports are a great part of Koh Phangan life, the diving in the Gulf of Thailand is exceptional, and choosing to dive using Koh Phangan as a base makes good sense. Much cheaper than the neighbouring islands of Koh Samui and Koh Tao, the island makes the perfect place to combine a relaxing holiday with a scuba diving course.
If you think that scuba might be a bit too extreme for you, then you should know that the snorkelling around the island is incredible, many beaches have a very close-in reef formation, allowing even the most fearful swimmers, to wade out and enjoy the underwater show.
If you like beaches, relaxing days spent in the sun, great food, lively parties and healthy water sports, then you should consider visiting Koh Phangan.
