Koh Phangan Parties - Full Moon Party - Half Moon Party - Any Party - We Cover Them All!

This took quite some time

The Mirror finally picked up on the story of Danny Hall, the 35 year old chap who went missing a couple of months ago following a Full Moon Party. What really gets me about these kinds of reports, are how they always manage to fit in a few cop out phrases, let’s take a closer look at this one shall we?

Firstly we have the "possibly used recreational drugs" part, this is the first get out option we have, the second is the "was on sedatives after a split from his girlfriend", which is another blatant doorway to excuse the fact he is missing.

Well guess what? Thousands of people use recreational drugs at these parties, and they don’t go missing? God knows how many are going through a break up with their significant other? Again, they don’t go missing.

If we look at the amount of people that go missing, are injured or murdered at the Full Moon Party each year, it is plain to see that something needs to be done to improve the safety at the event. Reports like this, coming from a major source of UK news, which is doing nothing more than giving excuses as to why this guy may have gone missing, are just not helpful.

Instead of printing a sob story about a drugged up 35 year old who was upset about his girlfriend leaving him, why not print a story that has some damn meat for a change? Why not question the authorities? Ask why there are so many "accidents" each year? Ask for a statement from the Thai ambassador to the UK? Instead of printing this useless drivel.

Full Moon Party @ #2

The infamous Full Moon Party on Koh Phangan just came in at number two in the list of top ten local parties around the world, over at matadornights.com.

Pretty surprising to see it rating above Glastonbury Festival though, or maybe that’s just my misplaced English patriotism bothering me. Definitely less rain than Glastonbury though for sure!

I’ve never even heard of the party sitting at number one on the list, La Tomatina in Valencia Spain, has anybody ever been? They say that 30,000 people attend, that’s huge.

Also kind of strange to see Songkran mentioned, it isn’t exactly a party in the traditional sense of the word, although I guess it does have the usual mixture of intoxicated people, madness and deaths.
